14 Killed, 79 Injured In Train Collided In Pakistan

A passenger train coming from a fast speed in eastern Punjab province hit a cargo train on Thursday, killing at least 14 people and injuring 79 others. The Dawn newspaper quoted officials as saying that Akbar Express, who went to Quetta, collided in a vertical freight train at Vellhar railway station in Sadiqabad tehsil of Punjab province. The cargo train was on the railway line when the passenger train coming from a fast speed started running on the wrong track rather than on the main line. Rescue officials told Don News TV that at least 14 people were killed and 79 others were injured in a collision with passenger train Akbar Express.

 

 

Rahim Yar Khan's Deputy Commissioner Jamil Ahmed Jameel told that all passengers aboard the quetta train have been evacuated and the work is being done to remove the obstruction. He told that to get rid of stranded passengers in the train For heavy equipment used. They said that food and water is being provided to the passengers. Officials said that the Pakistan Army is also participating in the rescue operation. Police said that in the accident, the engine of Akbar Express was completely destroyed and three bogies were also damaged. According to the news of Geo News, The injured have been admitted to the nearby hospitals of Sadikabad and Rahim Yar Khan.

Officials said that they are likely to be killed in the accident and other people. Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Arif Alvi have expressed grief over the killing of people in a train accident. Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has ordered an inquiry into the incident. He said that it is a disaster due to human negligence. He announced compensation of Rs 15 lakh for the deceased's families and compensation of Rs five lakh for the injured.
