It is noteworthy that on December 15, 2016, during the tenure of former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's government, administrative approval was made to recruit 4000 Urdu teachers in primary schools. For this, the process of converting and recruiting 4000 posts for Urdu teachers was started in vacant 16460 posts of assistant teachers in primary schools run by the Basic Education Council.
At the moment, the recruitment process was in cold storage, but after the internal investigation, the government decided to end the recruitment process of Urdu language teachers. That is, now teachers will be recruited but all 16460 posts will now be filled with teachers of general schools. According to information available by the education director, there are more than Urdu teachers employed in the primary schools run by the Basic Education Council, so there is no need for further Urdu teachers.
