BJP candidates are going ahead in four of the five Lok Sabha seats in Uttarakhand while the Congress candidate is ahead in one seat. The current BJP MP from Tehri Garhwal, Rajani Rajshalakshmi Shah, is also following her nearest rival Congress candidate and state party president Pritam Singh with over 2000 votes. From Almora, Union Minister Ajay Tamta is ahead of his nearest rival and close to 8000 votes from Rajya Sabha MP Pradeep Tumta from Congress, while BJP's National Secretary Teerath Singh Rawat on Pauri Garhwal seat, his closest rival of Congress and current BJP MP Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri Son is running ahead of Manish with about 3000 votes.
In Udhamsingh Nagar-Nainital, BJP's state president, Ajay Bhatt is ahead of his nearest rival Congress General Secretary and former Chief Minister Harish Rawat with nearly 3000 votes. although, From Haridwar, BJP's current MP and former Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal is following Nishank Congress's nearest rival, Ambareesh Kumar, with nearly 3000 votes. The first phase of voting was held on April 11 in Uttarakhand.
