Google has brought a lot of new features in its navigation app, Google Maps, and many features have been given especially to Indian users. Google is now testing another feature 'off-route' alert in India. This feature is only being tested for Indian users. According to the XDA report, this feature is being developed in the wake of the safety of passengers traveling in taxi or cab. This will alter the user as soon as the route changes that they are going away from the route.
Due to the new features, if your taxi or cab moves more than 500 meters from your fixed route, Google Maps will immediately alert you that the driver is taking you on the wrong track. Besides security, this feature will also be helpful for users who are new to a city and those who do not know the path. Often these new people take a long way by telling them a cab or auto driver shortcut, so that their meter can be charged more. In such a way, instead of re-routing Google Maps, users will send an alert to the phone.
At the moment it is not clear whether Google Maps users in other countries are either testing this feature or not. The details related to this experimental feature are not yet revealed. Recently, Google has added features such as Speedometer and Radar Location Show in its app. Route preview, speed camera and speed limit alert are being rolled out for Indian users. In the latest update, Google has added three public transport features to special Indian users.
Google Maps brings another new feature in India, with the help of Speed Limits can be added in the navigation interface and it will be quite useful for the drivers. In this app, there are two options associated with speed traps and accidents. While driving with the help of the feature, users will be able to report any overpressing or acident with only one click. Now Maps will tell the user where speed camera is located or how much speed limit has been fixed on any road.
