The High Court has canceled the ban imposed by the Central Government on September 7, 2018, on drug surgeon S. ProxyVone, the pharmaceutical drug of Vocohard. This drug is used to relieve pain in bone and muscle.
The drug company had challenged the notification of the central government in which 328 drugs were banned, manufacture, sale and distribution. After hearing the plea, the High Court reserved the judgment on November 15, 2018. Justice Vibhu Bakhru canceled the order of the Central Government after hearing the petition of the drug company. This is the first petition filed against the Union Health Ministry's notification on which the court has given its verdict.
There are pending petitions in the High Court against the ban on various drugs including Glenmark, Alchem Laboratories, Observer Biotech, Coral Laboratories, Lupine, Mankind Pharma, KO Pharmaceuticals, McLoads and many other major pharmaceutical companies on the issue.
