After a long wait, the new OPD of AIIMS (AIIMS) is ready and patients will be seen here from 10 February. AIIMS 'new OPD center will no longer be in AIIMS campus but in Masjid Moth area. Everyday around nine thousand patients reach AIIMS main OPD. Patients have to face trouble due to less space. Patients will get relief from congestion with the opening of new OPD block. Each floor of this nine-storey OPD block will have a seating capacity of about 500 people.
The AIIMS director has inaugurated the new OPD center, built in Masjid Moth area, some distance away from AIIMS. However, the treatment of people will start from 10 February i.e. Monday. People from all over the country come to the AIIMS campus of the capital Delhi for their treatment. Due to which there was a lot of pressure on AIIMS.
Initially, only 6 departments will be shifted here. According to sources, AIIMS has issued notice to the concerned departments. The notice issued by AIIMS stated that from February 10, OPD of the Department of Psychiatry, Orthopedic, General Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Skin and Endocrinology will be in the new block. The remaining departments will be shifted there in a phased manner.
Why management system has also been arranged so that patients can be seen properly. Jani patients will be given tokens and after seeing the number on the screen, they will be able to go to the doctor. That is, when their turn comes, they will know from the screen. This system was not in the old AIIMS.
At present, where OPD is done in AIIMS, patients have to queue long. This does not provide a place to step foot in the path leading from the middle of the OPD. It is now expected that people will get relief from the opening of the new OPD, while the doctors will also help in getting the right treatment.
