Facebook deleted 1.5 billion accounts, know why?

Delhi,17,November,2018

Social media giant Facebook has released Community Standards Report, according to which the company has deleted about 1.5 billion Facebook accounts from April to September 2018. In this report, the company has talked about Fake News, Hate Speech, Span and Terrorist Propaganda.

According to Facebook, 1.5 billion fake accounts have been removed. In the second quarter of 2018, Facebook had removed 800 million accounts, while 754 million fake accounts were removed in the third quarter. Facebook said that 99.6 Fake Accounts have been identified as a fake account and they have been deleted before reporting the users. But still the fake accounts on Facebook have not ended.

Facebook estimates that in the second and third quarter of 2018, there may be between 3-4% of the accounts of monthly users. According to the company, most of the deleted accounts are professionally inspired spam attacks.

Significantly, Facebook is constantly criticizing Fake accounts, Fake News and Propaganda. Recently, the New York Times published a report, stating that Facebook is failing to catch and deal with Russia's interference in Fake News and US elections. Although the company has reversed this claim and issued the Transparency Report, it has given statistics to remove the fax accounts.
