BJP has got a big success in Sikkim. Here 10 MLAs of Sikkim Democratic Front have joined BJP. According to the news, all the MLAs, except former Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling, joined the BJP.
10 MLAs of Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) joined the party in the presence of BJP Executive President JP Nadda and BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav. After 10 MLAs joined BJP, BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav endured that he would welcome all 10 MLAs. With 10 MLAs joining the party, now the BJP has started the exercise to form a government in Sikkim.
Pawan Chamling's party, which is one of the longest-serving politicians in the country, could not get a majority in the 32-seat state in the assembly elections held along with the Lok Sabha elections this year, and sat in opposition with 15 MLAs. The Sikkim Revolutionary Front won 17 seats in the election, and Prem Singh Tamang became the Chief Minister.
