The Directorate of Education has ordered 12 private schools in Delhi, which charge arbitrary fees, to refund the additional fees charged from students in 7 days. Schools have been ordered to return the increased fees with 9% interest.
The Directorate has also released a list of 12 schools. These schools have been identified by the Delhi High Court Committee (earlier Justice Anil Dev Singh Committee). These are the schools which this year also collected fees without the approval of Directorate of Education.
The directorate has said in its order that this order given on the recommendations of the committee should be followed within 7 days. Submit the report in 10 days to your District DDA. Schools are required to return the additional fees charged from the parents with 9% interest.
All the DDEs have also been asked to file status reports of schools within 15 days on compliance of the order. The Directorate of Education says that this report is conclusive which the manager / principal of the schools will have to accept.
Aparajita, president of the Delhi Parents Association, says that in July this year, Hansraj School was ordered for a refund of over Rs 1 crore. Still the parents did not get the money. St. Mary's, Hansraj School Parents of all these schools are asking us for refund of fees. The Directorate of Education should now implement this order strictly. Here are 12 schools
