Kerala Government Challenges The Amended Citizenship Law In The Supreme Court

The Kerala government challenged the amended citizenship law in the Supreme Court and requested the apex court to declare the law beyond the constitution. The Kerala government requested the apex court to declare CAA 2019 a violation of Article 14 (Right to Equality), Article 21 (Right to Freedom of Living), Article 25 (Freedom to follow any religion) of the Constitution. In Kerala, the government requested that this law be declared a violation of the fundamental principles of secularism provided in the Constitution.
