Colombo : Sri Lankan captain Dinesh Chandimal has returned to the T20 squad after suffering a ban for violating the sports spirit. According to Sri Lanka Cricket statement, Chandimal has been included in the 15-man squad for the sole T20 against South Africa. Chandimal did not play in the two Test matches and the first four ODIs. The fifth and final one-dayer will be on Sunday but Chandimal has not been included in the team for this.
Chandila, Sri Lanka's coach Chandika Hathurasinghe and manager Asanka Gurusinghe had banned the International Cricket Council (ICC) for refusing to field for two hours during the second Test match against the West Indies in June. Prior to this, Chandimal was accused of tampering the ball. The Sri Lankan captain was banned for the third Test against West Indies and two other Tests and four ODIs.
Sri Lanka's T20 team is as follows: Angelo Mathews (captain), Dasun Shanaka, Kusle Pereira, Dhananjay De Silva, Upul Tharanga, Kushal Mendis, Dasara Perera, Sheehan Jayasuriya, Sheehan Madushka, Lahiru Kumara, Dinesh Chandimal, Akila Dhananjay, Jeffrey Wandersay, Laxman Sandakan and Binura Fernando.
