Freedom House presented a report titled Freedom on the Net (FOTN) on Tuesday, which gave data on internet freedom of all countries between June 2018 and May 2019. According to the report, Pakistan has lagged behind in internet usage for the last nine years.

According to the report, the research company ranked Pakistan 26th out of 100. At the same time, this country has fallen one place last year. Pakistan has been given 5 out of 25 marks in case of internet users. Also, 14 out of 35 marks have been obtained in the search category. On the other hand, in the case of violation of rules, only four marks are given out of 40.
Pakistan is among the worst countries involved
Apart from this, Pakistan is also one of the ten worst countries on the global level regarding freedom of internet and media. In this case, Vietnam is on the first place and China on the second. The report further states that Pakistan has interfered in the elections through an informational strategy, including acts such as favoritism, ticket distribution, misinformation. Along with this, elections have also been influenced through news sites and web portals.
