Jammu: 3 militants of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM) were killed in an encounter in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, and eight security personnel including a police sub-inspector were injured. Police officials said that during the siege and search operation, the security forces reached near a house in the Kakriya locality of the district and siege the terrorists. He said that the encounter with the CRPF, police and army personnel as soon as the security force started to reach them.
Officials said that the security forces started operations on Wednesday to detect three terrorists of JEM in which drones and helicopters were used. These terrorists were surrounded. Terrorists are between 18 and 22 years old.
Police said that five CRPF jawans and three policemen were injured during the campaign, who were admitted to Katra Narayan Hospital.
After firing on security forces on Jammu-Srinagar national highway, a siege and search operation was launched to arrest militants in Jhajjar Kotli forest area of Jammu and Reasi district. After the incident the terrorists fled to the forest of Kakaryal.
A senior police officer told that during a drive, a villager told the security forces that three militants entered their house on Wednesday night and asked for clothes and food after which they escaped.
