Petrol price continued to fall for the fifth consecutive day on Tuesday, while there was no change in the price of diesel. A day earlier, oil companies had cut diesel prices marginally. Petrol prices in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai have reduced again by five paise per liter. On the other hand, the cut in the price of crude oil in the international market has been halted again for two days.
According to the website of Indian Oil, petrol prices in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai have come down to Rs 72.60, Rs 75.32, Rs 78.28 and Rs 74.45 per liter respectively. Diesel prices in the four metros have also remained at Rs 65.75, Rs 68.16, Rs 68.96 and Rs 69.50 per liter respectively without any change.
On Tuesday, Brent Crude's January delivery contract on the international futures market Intercontinental Exchange was trading at $ 62.02 a barrel, down 0.19 percent. At the same time, American Light crude was trading 0.23 percent down at $ 56.41 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange in December contract of West Texas Intermediate.
