Bangaluru: Karnataka Police filed an affidavit against Mehul Choksi, accused in a fraud of Rs 9.11 crore here. The case in which the Karnataka Police filed charge sheet against Choksi was filed in 2015.
Inspector General of Police (Economic Crime Branch) Hemant Nimbalkar said that chargesheet against Choksi was filed before the first Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate on August 7. He told that the police had registered an FIR against Choksi in 2015 on the complaint of city jeweler Hariprasad. Police said that the court issued non-bailable arrest warrants against Choksi.
Choksi is currently in Antigua. Hariprasad had alleged in his complaint that Choksi cheated him with Rs.1.11 crores. Choksi and her nephew Neerav Modi are desirous of the looming of about 14,000 crores for Punjab National Bank. India has been trying to bring Choksi back from Antigua.
