New Delhi: Congress workers from place of place are replaced by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's 10-year-old film 'The Accidental Prime Minister'. Many Congress workers in Kolkata threw up the curtains in a theater. Because of which the show was canceled.
Anupam Kher flashed when the film's protests and curtains were torn apart. He tweeted, "Intolerance In Kolkata, where 'The Accidental Prime Minister' was being shown, curtains were torn apart.
The film 'The Accidental Prime Minister', directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, was released on Friday. The film is based on the book of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's former media adviser Sanjay Baru. In the film, actor Anupam Kher is playing the character of Manmohan Singh and Akshay Khanna, Sanjay Baru.
Some viewers in Hind Cinema of Chandni Chowk area of central Kolkata said that the show was canceled only after 10 minutes of screening on the first day. A senior Kolkata Police official said, "The afternoon screening of 'The Accidental Prime Minister' was canceled because of security reasons because a group was being exhibited outside the hall."
The Youth Congress leadership of the state claimed that the film is insulting to Manmohan Singh and other senior Congress leaders. They demanded to ban the film. Bengal Youth Congress president Shadab Khan said, "The title of the movie is insulting." What do the filmmakers want to say, as Manmohan Singh is called an Accidental Prime Minister? Nearly 100 activists of Youth Congress in Kolkata protested against the cinema. It is a matter of fact that screening has been stopped. "
When asked if the cancellation of film screening could be a violation of freedom of expression, he said that the film has hurt the feelings of party workers. He said, "It was done because of the hurt of our workers' feelings. We are not planning to do any other show here yet."
Mamata too hurried
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee questioned Friday on the issue of the release of the movie "The Accidental Prime Minister" in the wake of the general elections, and satirically said that all the prime ministers became coincidentally. He also claimed that such films are created by breaking the facts. Without anybody's name, Banerjee said, "All become prime minister by chance."
Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Banerjee said that if people are making such films then films like "The Digestras PM" should also be made. The Trinamool Congress chief said after inaugurating the 23rd Jatra festival, "I came to know that some people are making political films. Shortly before the Lok Sabha elections, he has released the film entitled 'The Accidental Prime Minister'. By the way all the prime ministers were accidentally made. I did not understand the meaning of this acetic PM. "
