In order to fight the corona virus, Uber, which provides app based cab service amid lockdown, has also announced to discontinue its services. For a few days, Uber will not provide services across the country. On March 22, the day of the Janata curfew, both Ola and Uber kept their bookings open for necessary trips.
Uber has taken this decision in view of the lockdown across the country. According to Times Now, to ensure that the corona virus epidemic does not spread further, Uber has accepted the government's appeal and stopped the services for a few days. At the same time, both Ola and Uber services will not be available in the capital Delhi till 31 March.
Recognizing the appeal of the central and state government, both cab providers have decided to stop the services. According to ET's report, a spokesperson for Ola has said that she will run some cabs so that the urgent work can be handled.
On Sunday, Uber India wrote a tweet honoring its drivers, thanking them for giving the necessary trips in a crisis like Corona.
