India has provided diplomatic access to the British citizen Christian Mitchell who was brought here from the UAE last month in connection with the Rs 3600 crore AgustaWestland helicopter deal scandal. Michelle was arrested in the first week of December. After that the British High Commission demanded that diplomacy be granted to him. Foreign Ministry spokesman Ravish Kumar said, "Michelle has been provided diplomatic access." Michelle (57) was brought to India after being extradited by the United Arab Emirates in connection with the helicopter deal. He is currently lodged here in Tihar Jail. It is understood that Mitchell was provided diplomatic access on Thursday. Mitchell is among the three middlemen from whom CBI and Enforcement Directorate are questioning in this matter.
