Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) senior leader Ashutosh resigned from the party today. Ashutosh announced his resignation on Twitter He has cited personal reasons for the resignation. Ashutosh tweeted that now every one travels to politics ends his journey. With me you have been good / revolutionary and now it also ends. I have resigned from the party. The party's political affairs committee (PAC) has requested to accept the resignation.

Ashutosh and the controversy

Ashutosh was in the headlines for making controversial comments on Gandhi, Nehru and Atal Bihari Bajpayee. In 2016, when Aam Aadmi Party's minister Sandeep Kumar was caught in porn CDs then Ashutosh accompanied him. Ashutosh, while defending Sandeep, said that the minister had done nothing wrong.

The Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee also have relationships with other women outside the social and moral realm. Ashutosh's comment was strongly criticized by Congress including the BJP. Not only that, FIR was registered against them.

Not only that, Ashutosh had also given the verdict of the execution of the culprits of rape and did not justify this decision.

Ashutosh has also raised questions on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's degree. Then the general public with the BJP had done a very good class.

It is to be noted that Ashutosh was on the verge of 'AAP' on January 11, 2014. He also wrote a book on Anna's Janalokpal agitation. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he contested from Chandni Chowk seat of Delhi, though he had lost to BJP's Harsh Vardhan.
