On the occasion of Independence Day on August 15, the metro train service in the national capital of the country will continue to operate like normal days. However, entry will be available from the designated gate at some stations on the violet line. Exit gates will also be fixed at some stations on the violet line.
Officials said on Tuesday that all metro stations will be open on Independence Day, but parking at the stations will be closed from 6 am on August 14 to 2 pm on 15 August. He said that entry and exit from select gates will be allowed during Independence Day celebrations at four stations of the Violet Line - Lal Qila, Jama Masjid, Delhi Gate and ITO.
Extra ticket counters will be opened
DMRC said that keeping in view security during this period, some gates will remain closed at these stations. For the convenience of the people on Independence Day, additional ticket counters will be opened at the Red Fort and Jama Masjid metro station. After the ceremony, additional staff will also be deployed to handle the crowd.
