Delhi High Court asked Union Minister Harsh Vardhan to reply on the petition on Thursday in which challenging his election for Lok Sabha from Chandni Chowk constituency. Justice Naveen Chawla issued notice to the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister seeking his response on the petition. In the petition, it has been requested to declare his election invalid in the lower house of parliament. Arun Kumar, who claims to be a voter from Chandni Chowk constituency, has filed this petition.
He has alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders are involved in corruption by not disclosing the actual value of residential apartments purchased by their wife. The court has fixed September 24 for next hearing on the matter. In the parliamentary elections in April-May, Harsh Vardhan defeated Jai Prakash Agarwal of Congress and Pankaj Gupta of Aam Aadmi Party.
