Pakistan released 100 more Indian fishermen as goodwill between the tensions of the two countries after the Pulwama terror attack. Pakistan has announced the release of 360 Indian prisoners in four phases this month, and the fishermen were released in the second phase on Saturday. Pakistan had released 100 fishermen on April 7 in the first jatha.
Officials said, "100 other Indian fishermen were released from Malir Jail as goodwill." They are being transported to Lahore from where they will be handed over to the Indian administration on the Wagah border on Monday. These fishermen were arrested on illegal fishing in Pakistani waters during various operations. The other 100 fishermen will be released on April 22 and the process will be completed on April 29 when 55 fishermen and five prisoners will be released.
