JNU Violence Court Directed Whatsapp Google To Provide Information Sought By Police

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday directed WhatsApp and Google to preserve and make available the information sought by the police in relation to the JNU violence. The High Court also asked the police to get the phone numbers of the members of the two WhatsApp groups on which the violence in JNU was coordinated on January 5. Instructed to make available CCTV footage of the violence demanded at the earliest. The court gave JNU professor Amit Parameswaran, These instructions were given on a petition filed by Atul Sood and Shukla Vinayak Sawant.

 

 

The petition sought to give necessary guidelines to the Delhi Police Commissioner and the Delhi government. On January 5, a mob of masked people entered the JNU campus and targeted the students of three hostels. The masked men had sticks and iron rods in their hands. They beat up students in three hostels and vandalized the campus. Three FIRs have been lodged at Vasant Kunj (North) Police Station in connection with this incident.
