The fees of 72 private BEd colleges in Himachal Pradesh have increased by Rs 13 thousand. The state has increased the two-year BEd fee from Rs 85 thousand to 98 thousand, while approving the new fee structure. The new rates of fees will come into effect from the academic session 2019-20 as soon as the notification from the Directorate of Higher Education is issued.
Currently, a fee of Rs 85 thousand is being charged for two-year degree in B.Ed colleges of the state. Every year around eight thousand students take admission in 72 B.Ed colleges located in Himachal. The college managers reached the High Court seeking to increase the fees. The High Court had directed the government to take a decision.
In this episode, a new fee structure has been prepared according to the order of the High Court. A fee of 98 thousand will be recovered in two installments. You will have to pay Rs 49510 in the first year and Rs 48490 in the second year. Apart from this, the examination fee of Rs 1400 per semester will have to be paid separately. One thousand rupees of Library Security Fund will be returned on completion of the degree.
Earlier in May 2017, the fees were increased. The two-year BEd degree fee was increased by the government by 22 thousand rupees. 84,870 rupees was fixed by the government. In the first year of the degree, it was decided to pay an installment of Rs 42,950 and in the second year Rs 41,920. Earlier in November 2016, the government had increased the fees of private BEd colleges from Rs 45 thousand to Rs 62,870.
