French Envoy In Tehran Talks For Nuclear Deal Salvage Bid

Tehran,11,July,2019

President Francois Emmanuel Macroon's top diplomatic advisor on Wednesday held high-level talks in Tehran, with a goal to save the 2015 nuclear deal and reduce tensions between Iran and the US. Emmanuel Bone met the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani, External Affairs Minister Mohammad Javed Zarif and Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Yevs Lee Dreen told that the aim of this trip to Bone is to prevent the tension in an uncontrolled manner and prevent any incidents. A joint working plan was formed in the agreement between Iran and the world's super powers (P5 + 1) and the European Union in 2015.

Under this, Iran had to eliminate relief from sanctions, economic benefits and international level loneliness in exchange for the closure of the nuclear program. However, in this regard, Iran says that even a year after President Donald Trump's decision to unilaterally exclude the United States from this agreement, the EU is not doing anything, so its patience is ending.

In the context of US sanctions against Iran before meeting with Bone, Zarif said, "The conversation is not possible while under pressure." Pointing out the agreement with the US, he said that European countries will solve this problem. On the other hand, a statement released by the European Union and France, Germany and UK Foreign Ministers said that Iran bin obey all the provisions of a delay agreement and immediately start following it.

It is worth mentioning that Bone has come here after Iran announced the enrichment of uranium by 4.5 percent on Monday. According to the agreement, Iran can only enrich uranium to 3.67 percent, which is enough for nuclear energy.
