Anchor-actor Mantra will be seen playing the role of Najib-ud-Daula in Ashutosh Gowariker's upcoming ambitious project 'Panipat'. He says it was his dream to work with the Oscar-nominated director. The film is based on the third battle of Panipat fought in 1761 between the Maratha warriors and Abdali, which is releasing on 6 December. The film stars Arjun Cooper, Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon in the lead characters.

In 'Panipat', Kriti is playing the character of Parvati Bai, the wife of Maratha warrior Sadashiv Bhau.
