Wasim Khan , the new managing director of the Pakistan Cricket Board ( PCB ), said that Pakistan would have to level its game so that the game's superpower had to force India to play against it.
Cricket teams of India and Pakistan have not played bilateral series since 2007 due to bitterness in relationships. Wasim Khan said in Lahore, "I think when Pakistan becomes a top-level team, then there can be a situation that India will ask us to play the series."
Due to not being a bilateral series, both teams play in the series organized by ICC and Asian Cricket Council. Ahsan Mani , after being appointed the PCB in August last year, had said that the board will not be asked to play with India.
Mani also supported the statements of Wasim Khan and said that the PCB would have to improve its level and join the top three teams, then India would want to play against us itself.
