New Delhi: Ramkumar Ramanathan of India will challenge the Serbia in the playoff match of the Davis Cup tennis tournament to be held in Krzeljevo. The clay court match was drawn on the last day. In the first singles match, Ramkumar will compete with Lasalso Jere. On the same day, in the second singles match, Prasannesh Guneshwaran will face Dusan Laajoevich. In the doubles match, Rohan Bopanna and N Sriram Balaji will face the challenge of Nicol Milozavich and Danilo Petrovic. In the first reverse singles, Ramkumar will face Laajoiv and Guneshwaran will face Jere.
In the world singles ranking, Ramkumar is ranked 135th and Guneshwaran is 162nd while Laajoevich is 56th and Zarey is 86th. In the doubles rankings, Bopanna is placed 30th and Balaji is 110th. Miloswitch's doubles ranking is 345 and Petrovic's 228. India's non-player captain Mahesh Bhupathi and Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia. This will be the fifth time in Serbia and India's Davis Cup. In the previous four competitions Serbia is ahead of 3-1. This is the third opportunity for the two teams to clash in the last 30 years.
