Delhi,11,October,2018

New Delhi: Vikramaditya Singh, a former member of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council and a senior leader of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), joined the Congress on Thursday. Senior Congress leader and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad gave information about joining the Congress of Vikramaditya at a press conference held at the party headquarters here. He told that after meeting with party president Rahul Gandhi, Singh has decided to join the party. Azad hoped that joining Singh's party would strengthen the Congress position in Jammu and Kashmir, and his role for the party would be important.

Senior Congress leader Dr. Karan Singh's son Vikramaditya Singh got involved in strengthening tourism business in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh after completing studies in Business Administration and International Relations from the University of California. He played a key role in this. In 2014, he joined the PDP at the behest of former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and became a member of the Legislative Council in 2015. In October last year, he left the party due to differences with then Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
