It would not be wrong to say that smartphone makers have limited options now if it is a matter of design for the smartphone of 2019. Come on with the introduction of the 2019, it has been seen as a new trends folder smartphones . While Samsung and Huawei have already removed the curtain from their foldable smartphones, brands such as Shomei and Motorola will also be ready to bring their twisted phones soon. According to the recent LetsGoDigital's latest report, the South Korean company LG does not want to be lagging behind in this race and nearly 10 applications related to the rolling phone have been given.
LG has filed these applications in the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), which shows that the company is working towards making a rolled phone. Trademark applications have not revealed much information about these phones, but their codename has been detected. These smartphones have been codenamed The Roll, Double Roll, E-Roll, Signature R, R Screen, R Canvas, Dual Roll, Roll Canvas, By-Roll and Rotorola.
This is not the first time that LG is working to bring a rollable device. A rollable TV has already arrived from the company and has also talked about the role of the smartphone being rolled up. However, filing patents or trademarks does not mean that the device will be exposed only. In contrast, a few years ago, many patents like Foldable smartphones seemed impossible, they are now being launched.
It is possible that LG is already working on innovation already introduced in the market and now wants to unload the devices. LG has also filed a patent for Transparent Foldable Phone. According to the report of The Verge, the patent of transparent foldable display was filed in 2015, but it has now been approved. The design of this phone is quite different from the other foldable devices and this concept has been approved by US Trademark and Patents Office (USTPO).
