Peshawar: Police in Pakistan confiscated many ancient idols of Buddha. The smugglers were in an effort to send these idols out. Police seized sculptures with a passenger car going to Baltistan from Gilgit to Abbotabad district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Among the artifacts seized, Buddha has four big and eight small sculptures.
DSP of the Abbottabad Cantonment told the media on Thursday that a secret notice was received about trafficking in the northern areas of the artifacts of the theft from the archeological site. On the basis of information, the police searched a car in the Muslim area area. During the investigation the police followed a vehicle and recovered eleven idols of Buddha kept hidden above the cart. Police have arrested a person in the case.
