Team India player Lokesh Rahul is constantly struggling. He has not been in the form yet on the tour of Australia. After the T-20 series, they are now struggling with poor performance in the Test match. In the first Test being played in Adelaide, Rahul only managed to score two runs in 8 balls. He was dismissed by Josh Hazlewood. The poor thing about Rahul is that he has not even made a single half-century in the last 71 days. Rahul also scored just 27 runs in 3 T-20 matches against Australia.
Rahul did not even score runs against West Indies before Australia. He scored 59 runs in three T20 matches against the West Indies. Rahul was dismissed in 16 matches and 17 runs in the third match. In the second T20 match, they were not out on 26 runs. Likewise, he got the opportunity of batting three times in two test matches. They could not open the account once. Once, four runs were scored and once were 33 not out, they were not out.
Team India does not consistently perform well in the Test matches. He has crossed the 50-run mark once in the last 14 Test innings. However, he was successful in making the century. He played this innings against England in the Oval Test. Then he played 149 runs. They probably managed to make the place in the team due to this innings. Rahul has played four test innings after this century in which his score is 0, 4, 33 * and 2 runs.
Significantly, despite Rahul's poor performance, he has been getting frequent opportunities. The important thing is that they are kept in the list of India's talented players. Even before this match Michael Clarke of Australia said that he considers Rahul as the best batsman of Team India after Virat Kohli. Rahul is just the fifth Indian opener in the last 18 years, who got 32 or more Test matches. Apart from them, Virender Sehwag (103), Murali Vijay (60), Gautam Gambhir (58) and Shikhar Dhawan (34) are the only openers who have played 32 Test matches since 2000.
