Ajinkya Rahane not included in Team India for Asia Cup 2018, now Mumbai captains

Indian middle-order batsman Ajinkya Rahane has been appointed the captain of the Mumbai team for the forthcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy. Rahane has been given captaincy in place of former captain and wicketkeeper batsman Aditya Tare for the tournament starting in Bengaluru on September 19. At the same time, Shreyas Iyer has been made vice captain. Apart from this, Earth Shaw has also been given a chance in the team.

 

 

 

Rahane scored 257 runs in the five-match Test series against England, which included two half-centuries. They have not been included in the Indian squad for the Asia Cup starting in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 15.

 

 

 

Significantly, Team India's legendary player Rahane has performed well in domestic matches besides domestic matches. He scored 9158 runs in 199 innings of first-class matches. During this time he has scored 29 centuries and 38 half-centuries. His highest score was 265 not out.
