At the convoy of PDP president Mehbooba Mufti in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district, a stone pelting took place when she was returning from a dargah.
Officials said Mehbooba had gone to a dargah of Khiram in Anantnag district and was returning to Bijbehara when this incident took place. A car in his convoy was damaged and the driver was injured in the stone-pelting attack of stonebajeers on the convoy of former Chief Minister of Mehbooba Mufti, Jammu.
Police sources said that the PDP leader was returning after praying at Dargah in Khiram village. Meanwhile, some people started stone pelting on their convoy going towards Bijbehara town of Anantnag district. Sources said that a vehicle was damaged in this incident but security forces immediately sacked the area so that the convoy of the PDP president could get safe from there.
Mehbooba is contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Anantnag seat. She won this seat in 2014. In the South Kashmir region, spread over four districts of Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwama and Shopian, elections will be held from April 29 to May 6 in three phases.
