Election Commission Issued Notification For Delhi Assembly Elections

The Election Commission issued a notification for the Delhi Assembly elections to be held on February 8. The Commission issued a notification to begin the process of assembly elections in accordance with the notification of the election issued by the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi under the provisions of the Representation of the People Act. With this, the nomination process for 70 assembly seats in Delhi has also started. Candidates will now be able to file their nomination papers. According to the notification issued by the Secretary of the Commission, Ajoy Kumar, the candidates will be able to file nomination papers till January 21.

 

 

The nomination papers will be scrutinized on January 22 and the last date for withdrawal of nominations for candidates is January 24. It is noteworthy that Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora announced the schedule for Delhi Assembly elections on January 6. With this, the Code of Conduct was also implemented in view of elections in Delhi. By commission According to the pre-announced election schedule, the commission was to issue notification of the election on 14 January.

 

 

With this the election process officially begins. According to the notification, there will be voting from 8 am to 6 pm on February 8 and after the counting of votes on January 11, the election process is to be completed by January 13. It is noteworthy that in the wake of the Assembly elections, a notification has been issued by the Commission on 10 January, which facilitates people working in Delhi and other essential services including metro and rail services to vote by postal ballot.
