In more than 100 panchayats in Himachal Pradesh's district Sirmaur, the goats of more than four crore rupees will be cut off on the Maghi festival. From Friday evening, the jaggery of the Maghi festival has started in Giripur. The aroma of the traditional dishes has stirred the ardor of the warplanes. Beginning of the goat bites will start from Saturday. The tradition of celebrating this festival has been here for centuries.

 

 

 

Traditional recipes were made on 11th January, while 12 goats would be cut. Maghi Festival will start from January 12 in the Giripur region. On this day the goat will be cut in almost every household of the Girnar region. There are about 137 panchayats in the Giripur region. The area's population is three million, while the number of families is approximately 40 thousand. According to this, 40 thousand goats cut off. At present the price of goat starts from five thousand.

 

 

 

In this way, about 4 crore rupees buckets are estimated to be cut in the Girnar region. If you take an average of five thousand rupees per goat, then it costs about two crore rupees. While the price of goats has gone from five thousand to 35-40 thousand rupees. Hatti Committee's Maha Kundan Shastri said that around 95 per cent of the family members of the Giripar cut the goats at the Maghi festival. Those who are vegetarian, they do not cut goats.

 

 

 

It is a tradition of celebrating the Maghi festival in Jonesar Babar in the neighboring state of Uttarakhand along with the Giripur region. Every person in the Girnar region is present in his house on the festival. Those who are working outside the Girnar region also return home on this day. On January 11, all the houses are made up of mountainous dishes, Ullaule, Telapakki, Badoli. Whereas, after 12 January, the start of the bakery cutting cycle will begin.

 

 

 

Mahakali's special worship

 

Vice Chairman of Hati Committee Surendra Hindustani said that this tradition has been running for centuries in the Giripur region. In each family, goats will be cut off at this festival. There is also a special pooja of Mahakali, on this day. He said that if some people buy and buy goats, they give some other things in lieu of some goats. While some people keep the goats themselves specially for Maghi.

 

 

 

Marriage and guests are kept part

 

The groom, sister, etc., is kept part of the meat that has been cooked on Maghi and the goat's meat cut. Whereas guests are kept in the same way. Hatti Committee's Maha Kundan Shastri said that on Maghi festival, his daughter or sister etc. is sent to Jug. While the meat is kept separately for him. That is the tradition of serving him on a maiden.
